Kathmandu hosting international running conference on June 6

KATHMANDU: The inaugural Nepal International Running Conference (NIRC) will be held in Kathmandu on June 6.

Jointly organized by Race Nepal and Nepalgunj Marathon in collaboration with the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), the NRIC aims to create a platform for Asian running communities to share experiences, knowledge and best practices.

Representatives from over 20 countries, including the US, Japan, Thailand and some European nations, are participating in the NRIC. The event will feature four thematic sessions on education, sports and tourism, and a keynote speech by AIMS President Paco Borao.

According to TS Thakuri, founder of Nepalgunj Marathon and AIMS ambassador for Nepal, the event will be a milestone for Nepal’s running culture and overall sports development.

The event will be held on the sidelines of the AMID board meeting being held in Nepal.
