Kathmandu Gorkhas face Lumbini Lions in NPL today

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Gorkhas and Lumbini Lions are set to face each other in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) at the TU International Cricket Grounds on Tuesday.

Both teams will be looking to get their second wins in the match, which kicks off at 4 pm.

Kathmandu, which opened the NPL campaign with a comfortable five-wicket victory over defending champions Janakpur Bolts, faced two consecutive defeats — to Sudurpashchim Royals and Biratnagar Kings.

Lumbini, which finished eighth in the eight-team league last season, began their new campaign with a six-wicket win over Chitwan Rhinos. But they were thrashed by Karnali Yaks in their next outing.

Both teams will be looking to bring their NPL campaign back on track and keep their play-off hopes alive by winning this fixture.

Kathmandu defeated Lumbini in a low-scoring affair when the two sides met in the NPL last season. Both teams failed to qualify for the play-offs last year.
