KATHMANDU: Kathmandu District Court has also issued an arrest warrant for Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane.
The district court has issued arrest warrants for Lamichhane, former DIG Chhabilal Joshi and 20 others for investigation of misappropriation of deposits from Swarnalaxmi Saving and Credit Cooperatives, Kalimati, Kathmandu.
Police say they sought arrest warrants for 22 people after an investigation showed deposits from Swarnalaxmi were also siphoned to Gorkha Media Network.
Lamichhane served as the managing director of Gorkha Media Network. He resigned from the company and opened RSP some six months before the 2022 general election.
The former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister is currently in the custody of Kaski police.
