
KATHMANDU: The 11th meeting of the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) senate has approved the operational plan for a 50-bed satellite hospital in Rakam in Aathbiskot Municipality of Dailekh.
The meeting on Sunday endorsed the plan to upgrade the existing 15-bed hospital in line with the cabinet decision.
It has been decided that the KAHS will propose necessary infrastructure, human resources and resource arrangements to the Government of Nepal and other concerned parties.
During the meeting, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is also the chancellor of the KAHS, directed authorities to swiftly advance the work in consultation and coordination with the relevant local government. He assured that the government will extend all possible support to ensure accessible healthcare services for the people after the hospital’s upgrade.
The meeting also endorsed the proposed annual program and budget for the upcoming fiscal year. Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Paudel, National Planning Commission member Dr RP Bichha, Vice-Chancellor of the institution Dr. Mangal Rawal, among others, attended the meeting.
