POKHARA: Jayarani Tharu of Tribhuvan Army Club dominated track and field events in the 9th National Games, winning five gold medals.
Tharu won two gold medals in team events and three in single events. She set new national records in all three singles events.
She won gold medals in 400-meter Women’s Hurdles, 100-meter Women’s Hurdles, and Women’s Long Jump. Similarly, she won gold in two team events – 400-meter relay and 1,600-meter relay.
Tharu also set national records in 400-meter hurdles, 100-meter hurdles and long jump.
