KATHMANDU: Eight university teams from three countries are participating in the Jay Nepal Inter-University T-20 Cup to be held in Kathmandu from January 20.
According to the Nepal Students Union (NSU), which is organizing the event, four universities from Nepal, three from India and one from Bangladesh are participating in the competition.
Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Mid-West University, and Purbanchal University from Nepal; Delhi University, Lucknow University and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University of India; and Dhaka University of Bangladesh are participating in the competition.
The participating teams will be pooled into two groups. Group stage matches will be played in the round format and the top two teams from the group stage will enter the semifinal, the organizers said in a press meet in Kathmandu on Thursday.
The winning team will get Rs 1.5 million, while the first runner-up will take home Rs 1 million. The organizers have also set aside Rs 500,000 to award individual performers.
