KATHMANDU: Jagman Gurung has been appointed as the coordinator of the “United People’s Movement Committee for the Restoration of Monarchy”.
Gurung, who is a former vice chancellor of Nepal Academy, was picked for the position after the incumbent coordinator, Nawaraj Subedi, was placed under house arrest following Friday’s protest in Kathmandu, which claimed two lives.
“Since the government has placed me under house arrest, Jagman Gurung will lead the movement in my absence,” Subedi said in a statement issued on Sunday.
