KATHMANDU: International tourist arrivals to Nepal surpassed the one-million mark in November 2025, signaling a steady recovery in the country’s tourism sector.

According to data released on Monday by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Nepal welcomed 1,060,269 international tourists between January and November 2025, a 0.4% increase from the 1,055,520 arrivals recorded during the same period in 2024.

However, the figures still trail the pre-pandemic arrivals of 1,096,298 during the first 11 months of 2019.

In November alone, 116,553 international tourists visited Nepal. India remained the largest source market with 18,995 arrivals, followed by the United States (11,254), China (7,871), the United Kingdom (7,189), Bangladesh (5,653), Australia (5,393), Sri Lanka (4,831), Myanmar (4,484), France (4,211), and Germany (4,134).

By region, Nepal received 30,870 tourists from South Asia, 28,613 from other Asian countries, 15,891 from Europe, 13,678 from the Americas, 1,802 from the Middle East, 412 from Africa, and 6,269 from other regions.

Nepal received 128,443 international tourist arrivals in October. In September, however, arrivals fell to 78,000 foreign visitors, largely due to the Gen Z protest of September 8 and 9.
