Internal disputes in Maoist Center have been resolved: Sapkota

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Spokesperson Agni Prasad Sakpota has claimed that the internal dispute in the party has already been resolved.

Talking to journalists after the meeting of leaders and cadres of Bagmati Province at the party headquarters on Thursday, Sapkota said no such issue exists in the party.

Leaders and cadres who spoke in the meeting said the party needs to play an effective role in addressing people’s concerns. “Leaders need to return to class-based politics, make self-criticism for past mistakes and weaknesses, and focus on organizational development,” they said.

Sapkota said debate and discussion among party leaders and cadres would continue until the central committee meeting.

According to Sapkota, Maoist Center Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal presented his views on the country’s current political situation, the party’s role, and organizational expansion in Thursday’s meeting.

Likewise, Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma shared information about his written opinion presented at the standing committee meeting to leaders and cadres of Bagmati Province. He said that his goal was to reform the party and make it more people-oriented.

Vice Chairpersons Pampha Bhusal and Sapkota, General Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung, Deputy General Secretaries Barsha Man Pun and Janardan Sharma, along with leaders and cadres from Bagmati Province, participated in the meeting.
