KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Ashok Raj Sigdel has conferred the insignia of Major General of the Nepal Army on Gaurav Kumar KC, who was recently promoted from Brigadier General.
The insignia was formally presented to KC during a ceremony held at the Nepal Army Headquarters on Friday.
A cabinet meeting held on June 23 had decided to promote KC from Brigadier General to Major General.
Following his promotion, Major General KC has been appointed as the Commander of the Eastern Division Headquarters.
Generals, senior army officers and family members of the newly promoted Major General were present on the occasion, according to a statement issued by the Nepal Army.
