KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Prabhu Ram Sharma offered insignia to three newly promoted Major Generals on Sunday.
Brigadier Generals Sunil Shrestha, Anup Jung Thapa, and Prakash Deuja were promoted to Major Generals by the cabinet meeting held on February 18, the Nepal Army said in a statement on Sunday. “COAS Sharma offered the insignia to the new Major Generals amid a ceremony at the Nepal Army headquarters on Sunday,” the statement added.
The new Major Generals have already been assigned new responsibilities. According to the statement, Major General Shrestha will head the Mid-West Division, Major General Thapa will serve as a joint coordinator at the Nepal Security Council Secretariat, and Major General Deuja has been deputed at the Master General of Ordnance (Provision).
