KATHMANDU: The second edition of the Indo–Nepal Trade Festival 2026 is set to be held in New Delhi, India, from February 20 to 22.
Everest Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ECCI) is organizing the festival with the slogan “Connecting People, Enhancing Bilateral Trade.”
According to the organizers, the opening session will be attended by Nepal’s Ambassador to India, Shankar Prasad Sharma; India’s Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat; India’s Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia; and President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Chandra Dhakal, among others.
Following the success of its first edition, this year’s festival is being viewed as a major platform for strengthening economic cooperation, tourism integration, and cultural exchange between Nepal and India. The event will feature more than 10 high-level sessions and policy dialogues with the participation of over 60 experts. Key themes include hydropower and energy partnership; cross-border trade and connectivity; tourism integration, including the Ramayana and Buddhist circuits; banking, fintech, and digital economy cooperation; media and cultural diplomacy; youth engagement; education and innovation partnerships; the startup ecosystem; and the Indo–Nepal Cooperation Vision 2030.
In addition, business networking programs and B2B and B2G meetings will be organized among policymakers, ministers, diplomats, industrialists, investors, and entrepreneurs. According to the organizers, these sessions will bring together experts, policymakers, and industry stakeholders from both countries on a common platform to explore new opportunities for shared development and sustainable regional cooperation.
The festival will also showcase Nepal’s rich cultural heritage through musical performances, film screenings, traditional arts, and authentic Nepali cuisine. Organizers expect participation from more than 60 stalls representing India and Nepal, and estimate that over 25,000 visitors will attend the festival.
Speaking at a press conference held Tuesday at the Press Club in New Delhi, ECCI President Yuvraj Baral said the Indo–Nepal Trade Festival has been envisioned as a transformative platform to strengthen bilateral cooperation through trade, tourism, culture, and innovation. He said the festival will help expand investment opportunities, build meaningful partnerships across various sectors between Nepal and India, and further deepen the historic friendship between the two countries.
The festival is being organized by the ECCI, the umbrella organization of Nepali entrepreneurs in India, in collaboration with the Embassy of Nepal in India, the Nepal Tourism Board, and the Trade and Export Promotion Centre.
