Indian woman arrested with 1.26 kg gold from TIA

KATHMANDU: An Indian national has been arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with 1.26 kilograms of gold.

A joint team from the TIA Customs Office and the Armed Police Force’s Airport Customs Security Base apprehended Sumitradevi Laxman Ram (37), who had arrived in Nepal from Bangkok, Thailand, via Thai Airways.

According to the Armed Police Force, the gold was found in three separate plastic-wrapped packets in a semi-liquid form inside her bag.

She has been handed over to the Gaushala Police Circle for further investigation, according to the Armed Police Force.
