KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava paid a courtesy call on newly appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki at the latter’s office in Singha Durbar on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Ambassador Srivastava conveyed a congratulatory message from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Karki on her appointment as the Prime Minister of Nepal. “Srivastava also expressed India’s commitment to work together for further strengthening the close friendship and cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
This marks Karki’s first diplomatic engagement since her appointment as the head of the interim government.
Karki is scheduled to hold a telephone conversation with Modi on Thursday, according to a source at the Office of the Prime Minister.
