Indian envoy meets CoAS Sharma

KATHMANDU: Indian ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava paid a courtesy call on Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma at the army headquarters on Friday.

Issuing a statement, the army headquarters said issues of bilateral cooperation and mutual interests were discussed in the meeting. “The Nepal Army believes such visits help to strengthen friendly relations between the two countries,” the statement said.

The Indian government appointed Srivastava as its ambassador to Nepal on May 17 following the promotion of Vinay Mohan Kwatra to the post of foreign affairs secretary.

Srivastava arrived in Kathmandu on June 25 to take charge. He has intensified meeting with senior Nepali leaders and high-ranking government officials.
