KATHMANDU: Nepal ended its 2023 U-19 ACC Asia Cup campaign, conceding a 10-wicket defeat against India at the ICC Academy in Dubai on Sunday.
Batting first after losing the toss, Nepal was all out in 22.1 overs, scoring a paltry 56 runs. India achieved the target with 257 balls remaining.
Nepal earlier suffered a 7-wicket defeat against Pakistan in its first match before conceding a 73-run defeat against Afghanistan in its second match of the U-19 Asia Cup.
India won the toss and invited Nepal to bat first. Nepal had a poor performance with the bat, as none of its batsmen reached double digits. The eight runs scored by its No.10 batsman, Hemant Dhami, was the highest individual score by Nepali batsmen. Openers Deepak Bohora and Arjun Kumal could score only 1 and 7 runs, respectively. Uttam Magar and Deepak Dumre were out for a duck, while Akash Chand, Dipesh Kandel, and Glishan Jha scored four runs each; and captain Dev Khanal and Subash Bhandari each scored two runs.
Raj Limbani took seven Nepali wickets, giving just 13 runs in 9.1 overs. Aaradhya Shukla contributed with two wickets, and Arshin Kulkarni had a wicket to his name.
India chased down the target in 22.1 overs. Adarsh Singh scored a not-out 13 runs from as many balls, while Arshin Kulkarni struck an unbeaten 43 from 30 balls, which included five sixes.
