
KATHMANDU: Payment service providers IME Pay and Khalti have signed a merger agreement.
The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding for the merger in Kathmandu on Sunday. They have agreed to name the merged entity IME Khalti.
The two companies have written to the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) for a letter of intent for the merger.
IME Pay is promoted by IME Group, while WorldLink is one of the largest promoters of Khalti.
Khalti has a paidup capital of Rs 50 million, while IME Pay has a paidup capital of Rs 300 million. However, Khalti is believed to have a bigger market share compared to IME Pay.
