CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal
KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson and leader of the main opposition, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has expressed surprise over the decision to file a corruption case against former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal in connection with the Patanjali land deal.
“I believe the court will deliver justice to Madhav Kumar Nepal,” Dahal said. “It is surprising that the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has made inconsistent decisions on policy-level matters in the Lalita Niwas and Patanjali cases.”
The CIAA filed a case against Nepal and 92 others at the Special Court on Thursday. Nepal has been accused of authorizing, through a Cabinet decision, the sale of land acquired by Patanjali for industrial purposes.
