KATHMANDU: The Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives has invited Minsiter for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak to discuss the death of an inmate in a clash at Kailali District Prison on Friday.
The committee is holding its meeting at 10 am on Wednesday at Sindha Durbar.
Bharat Chaudhary died, while 48 others were injured when two groups of prisoners clashed in Kalali District Prison on Friday. The inmates took the prison under control for nearly 40 hours after the incident.
According to a member of the committee, the meeting will discuss the incident, its impact and measures that the government should take to resolve the problem and avoid such incidents in the future.
