House of Representatives election schedule published

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has published the schedule for the House of Representatives election to be held on March 5.

According to the schedule, political parties can register between November 17–26. Similarly, the offices of the election officers will be established starting from January 16.

Similarly, election campaigning will take place from February 15–March 2, followed by a silence period during which campaigning will be prohibited.

Voting is scheduled to be held on March 5 from 7 am to 5 pm.

For the proportional representation (PR) system, the offices of election officers will be established on December 1, and the closed lists of candidates will have to be submitted on January 2–3.

According to the he EC, only parties registered with it will be eligible to participate in the election.
