KATHMANDU: The meeting of the House of Representatives has been postponed until 1 pm on Sunday.
According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the meeting had to be postponed as the session scheduled for Friday could not convene.
Although the House briefly met on Thursday, it was adjourned without entering the agenda due to obstructions by the opposition. The meeting was then rescheduled for 1 pm on Friday.
Opposition parties have been disrupting Parliament, demanding the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and an investigation against him in connection with the visit visa controversy.
With the House disrupted, Parliament has not been able to hold discussions on the budget for the fiscal year 2025/26. Similarly, several bills under consideration have also been stalled.
