KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives has endorsed the Appropriation Bill, 2024.
A meeting of the House of Representatives passed the proposal to endorse the Appropriation Bill, 2024, tabled by Minister for Finance Barsha Man Pun, by a majority vote on Tuesday.
An appropriation bill is a law tabled by the government to authorize its expenditure. The passage of the bill authorizes the government to make spending as proposed in the budget speech.
The government presented a budget of Rs 1.86 trillion in the joint session of the Federal Parliament on May 28. Discussions on the Appropriation Bill, covering various ministries, offices, and agencies, began on June 11. During deliberations on the Appropriation Bill, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Finance Minister Pun, and other ministers addressed queries raised by lawmakers regarding the allocations for their respective ministries.
