KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) continued their protest in the House of Representatives (HoR) on Sunday, demanding action over the visit visa controversy involving Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
Despite their obstruction, Speaker Devraj Ghimire proceeded with the session.
As the meeting began, lawmakers from RSP and RPP stood up and surrounded the well. However, Speaker Ghimire allowed Nepali Congress Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire and CPN-UML Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai to speak.
The main opposition, CPN (Maoist Center), which had joined the protest, has stepped back after signing a two-point agreement with the ruling coalition. Despite this, RSP and RPP have continued their protest in the lower House.
On Friday also, the Speaker had allowed Maoist Center Chief Whip Hit Raj Pandey and Minister Lekhak to speak. In his address, the Home Minister claimed that the allegations against him were baseless.
