KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives session was disrupted for the second time on Wednesday as opposition lawmakers protested the government’s decision to sack Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Executive Director Kulman Ghising.
As soon as the session began, lawmakers from opposition parties, including the CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), stood up in protest.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire urged the lawmakers to take their seats to allow the session to proceed, but they refused, leading to the session being postponed until Thursday.
Earlier on Wednesday, another session had also been stalled for half an hour due to the opposition’s obstruction.
The opposition parties have demanded that the Prime Minister tell the House why Ghising was removed.
