KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has reassigned responsibilities for its 10 joint secretaries.
The ministry has appointed Rudra Singh Tamang as the head of the Department of Immigration. Tamang, previously with the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, will now serve as its director general. The position had been vacant after Jhalak Ram Adhikari was recalled to the ministry due to his contact with Dawa Chhiring, who was arrested for investigation into gold smuggling.
Adhikari has been reassigned to the reserve pool of the Ministry of General Administration.
Similarly, Jaya Narayan Acharya has been transferred to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
Gogan Bahadur Hamal has been moved to the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan Airport, replacing Ram Bandhu Subedi, who has been appointed as the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Dang.
Roshani Kumari Shrestha has been named the CDO of Bhaktapur, while Ganesh Aryal has been appointed as the CDO of Rupandehi. Shrestha was previously serving as the Chief District Officer of Baglung.
Additionally, Shiv Ram Gelal has been appointed as the Chief District Officer in Mahottari.
Likewise, Joint Secretaries Deepak Kumar Pahadi, Bharat Mani Pandey, and Khagendra Prasad Rijal have returned to the ministry. They were previously serving as CDOs of Mahottari, Rupandehi, and Bhaktapur, respectively.
