Home ministry changes chiefs of six provincial police offices Nepal Police Headquarters

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has changed the chiefs of provincial offices of Nepal Police in six provinces.

The decision to change the chiefs of all provinces, except Karnali, was taken by a ministerial-level meeting held on Sunday, according to the Human Resources Department of Nepal Police.

As per the decision, DIG Ishwar Karki has been transferred from the Research, Planning and Development Directorate to the Koshi Provincial Police Office, Biratnagar. Similarly, DIG Uma Prasad Chaturvedi has been moved from the Women, Children, and Senior Citizen Service Center to the Madhesh Provincial Police Office, Janakpurdham.

Likewise, DIG Arun Paudel has been transferred from the Crime Investigation Directorate to the Bagmati Provincial Police Office, Hetauda, while DIG Dinesh Kumar Acharya has been given new responsibilities at the Gandaki Provincial Police Office from the Inspector General’s Secretariat. DIG Rajendra Prasad Bhatta has been transferred from the Operations Directorate to the Lumbini Provincial Police Office, Tulsipur, while DIG Dambar Bahadur BK from the Cyber Bureau will now head the Sudurpaschim Provincial Police Office, Dhangadhi.

Similarly, DIG Govinda Thapaliya, who is currently posted at the Provincial Coordination Department, has been assigned responsibilities at the Central Investigation Bureau.

These senior officers will replace officers who were either promoted to the rank of Additional Inspector Generals (AIGs) or completed their term.
