KATHMANDU: Himalaya Airlines has announced the relaunch of scheduled flight operations between Kathmandu and Beijing.
The weekly flight resumed on June 24 and will be operated every Saturday. Nepal’s Ambassador to China, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, boarded the inaugural flight, symbolizing the growing friendship and cooperation between the two nations, the airline said in a statement.
According to the airline, the first outbound flight departed from Tribhuvan International Airport at 7:40 am (local time) and reached Beijing Daxing International Airport at 2:15 pm (local time). The flight duration is 4 hours and 45 minutes. The return flight departed from Beijing at 3:25 pm (local time) and arrived in Kathmandu at 6:30 pm (local time).
“We are thrilled to re-introduce scheduled flights between Kathmandu and Beijing. We view the resumption of flights on this route post Covid-19 pandemic is significantly important as it connects
two ancient capital cities of the region and that it will be fruitful to rejuvenate tourism growth between the two countries,” said Vijay Shrestha, Vice-President of Himalaya Airlines. “This new
route not only strengthens our presence in the international market but also provides a convenient travel option for both business and leisure travelers.”
The airline had suspended its flight to Beijing due to COVID pandemic.
