KATHMANDU: The Institutional School Teachers Union (ISTU) has honored Himal Press scribe Ramesh Dawadi in recognition of his contribution to education journalism and advocating for the rights and safety of teachers and school staff.
Dawadi was presented with a certificate of appreciation, a shawl and cash during the 7th national convention of ISTU held in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, ISTU President Hom Kumar Thapa stated that Dawadi was honored for consistently using his pen to strengthen the education sector.
The event was attended by Laxmikishor Subedi, President of the Confederation of Nepali Teachers (CNT); Somnath Giri, President of the Nepal Teachers’ Association; Tara Thapa, Acting President of the Nepal National Teachers’ Organization; Suprabhat Bhandari, President of the Nepal Parents’ Association; Gangaram Tiwari, President of the Nepal School Employees Council; and representatives from various affiliated components of CNT.
