KATHMANDU: The Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a special monsoon weather bulletin, warning of potential heavy rainfall, flooding, and landslides across several districts from Monday till Thursday.
“The monsoon low-pressure line is expected to remain near Nepal’s southern border which will intensify monsoon activity throughout the country,” the division said in its forecast.
According to the weather bulletin, of particular concern are 13 districts of Koshi Province, four of Bagmati, eight of Gandaki and nine of Lumbini Provinces where heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is anticipated. These areas face increased threats of landslides, mudslides and debris flows, the division added in its bulletin.
The division has advised people and all relevant agencies to take necessary precautions and preparedness measures during the period.
