KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Hearing Committee (PHC) has endorsed the nomination of 16 ambassadors for different countries.
A meeting of the PHC unanimously endorsed the nomination of 12 ambassadors, while the nomination of four was endorsed through a majority vote.
According to a member of the committee, the meeting decided to make a decision on the nomination of Ram Krishna Bhattarai, who has been recommended for Sri Lanka, in the next meeting due to a lack of documents.
PHC Member and Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Dol Prasad Aryal wrote a note of dissent on the nominations of Prof. Kapil Man Shrestha (South Africa), Prof. Dhana Prasad Pandit (Israel), and Dr. Netra Prasad Timilsina (Malaysia).
Likewise, PHC Member and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) lawmaker Prakash Adhikari wrote a note of dissent on the nominations of Dhana Prasad Pandit (Israel), Netra Prasad Timilsina (Malaysia), Dr. Shankar Sharma (India), and Prof. Kapil Man Shrestha (South Africa).
The nominations of Krishna Prasad Oli (China), Shail Rupakheti (Germany), Ramesh Chandra Paudel (Qatar), Prakash Man Paudel (Portugal), Rita Dhital (Pakistan), Naresh Bikram Malla Dhakal (Saudi Arabia), Sanil Nepal (Spain), Lokdrashan Regmi (US), Chandra Ghimire (UK), Sumina Tuladhar (Denmark), Shiva Maya Tumbahangphe (South Korea), and Jangab Chauhan (Russia) were also endorsed.
