Govt team start holding talks to resolve Pathibhara dispute People opposing the construction of cable car in Pathibhara of Tamplejung protesting in Itahari.

KATHMANDU: A talk team formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs to resolve the dispute over the construction of a cable car in the Pathibhara (Mukkumlung) area of Taplejung has started its work.

Prem Prasad Bhattarai, the coordinator of the team, said they held talks with the local stakeholders and a talk team formed by the protesters. “We have initiated talks with the representatives of the protesting party in Kathmandu Valley. Preliminary discussions are underway,” Bhattarai said.

The ministry formed the team on Saturday under the leadership of Joint Secretary Bhattarai. The team includes representatives from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and the Ministry of Urban Development.

The protesting groups had formed a talk-facilitating committee including representatives from the Mukkumlung Conservation Organization and political parties. The committee formed a talk team on Monday under the leadership of Amar Tumyahang. Shankar Limbu, Ram Maden and Saraswata Singak are members of the team.
