KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government was serious about returning Nepali youths from Russia.
Responding to queries related to the foreign ministry in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Dahal said the government was taking needful initiatives for the return of Nepali youths from Russia.
Dahal made the comment, responding to a query on the government’s efforts to return Nepali youths from Russia raised by Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Gyanendra Shahi.
“The government is making efforts in this regard because I am taking the matter seriously,” he added.
As many as 45 Nepali youths have lost their lives while serving in the Russian army.
Responding to another query on the sharing of ambassadorial positions among ruling parties, Dahal said that this has been the tradition for a long time. “Lawmakers should question this practice also when their party is in the government,” he added.
