KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that pressure from the political parties and Gen Z groups has turned the government into a pendulum.
Speaking at an event in Kathmandu on Thursday, Karki said the government was currently swaying like a pendulum to dual pressure from political parties and Gen Z groups. “The government is currently exercising patience and enduring everything,” she said. “If the current situation persists, the days ahead will not be easy. Therefore, it is necessary to seek an outlet through elections.”
Karki said that although political parties as well as Gen Z groups are urging her to step down, the current situation does not permit her to resign and walk away. “There are 25-30 Gen Z groups; one tells us to do one thing, another tells us something else. We are determined that the country should not become Bangladesh. It must not become Bangladesh,” she added.
The Prime Minister also said that the government is currently in a position where it finds no comfort wherever it goes.
