KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said that the government should be clear about its foreign policy.
Addressing a seminar on ‘Briding Generations: Transfering Knowledge on Bilateral and Multilateral Negotiations’ organized by the Institute of Foreign Affairs on Monday, he said that the government should focus on expanding international relations by being clear in its diplomatic and foreign policy. “Nepal’s diplomatic relations are strong. Since the advent of democracy, international relations have been improving and becoming more effective. To make it even better, we need to implement policy reforms,” he added.
Shrestha added that ambassadors representing Nepal in various countries should play an effective role in upholding the country’s interests in their respective host nations.
Similarly, Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal said that the government is developing new plans for foreign affairs studies. Nepal has been playing an effective role in the diplomatic arena, Lamsal added.
