KATHMANDU: The government has decided to recommend to the President to prorogue the summer session of parliament.
A cabinet meeting held on Sunday decided to recommend President Ram Chandra Paudel to prorogue the session, which is also referred to as the budget session, from Monday midnight.
The current session, which started on May 10, saw the passage of the budget for the fiscal year 2023/24 and important bills like the transitional justice bill.
The main opposition CPN (Maoist Center) had been obstructing parliamentary proceedings for the past few days to protest the use of ‘violence’ to refer to the decade-long armed struggle.
