KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has said that the government is preparing to end the winter session of parliament.
Talking to reporters after meeting Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday, Oli said the winter session will be prorogued as the main opposition, Nepali Congress (NC), is obstructing House meetings.
“The winger session will be prorogued. The new session will be summoned when needed,” Oli said. “The main opposition didn’t allow the House to function.”
Oli met Dahal ahead of the cabinet meeting scheduled for Friday.
NC is obstructing parliament demanding the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee to look into the alleged involvement of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Rabi Lamichhane.
