KATHMANDU: The government has decided to issue an order for reallocating funds without any limit to facilitate the reconstruction of public structures damaged during the Gen Z protests and to manage the funds required for the upcoming elections.
Speaking at a press meet on Friday, Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel said that the government has decided to reallocate funds within the approved program of the current fiscal year to rebuild the public structures damaged during the Genz Z protest and to allocate funds necessary for the upcoming elections.
“If additional funds are needed for any projects, there will be no cap on the amount that can be reallocated, and orders will be issued accordingly,” he said.
The government has also formed a negotiation team led by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Finance to secure a concessional loan of $100 million in the form of budgetary aid from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
