KATHMANDU: The government has brought a budget of Rs 1,751.31 billion for the 2023/24 fiscal year.
The allocation is Rs 42 billion less compared to the budget of the current fiscal year.
Presenting the budget for the upcoming fiscal year on Monday, Minister for Finance Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat said Rs 302.07 billion, or 17.25% of the total allocation, has been set aside for capital spending
Similarly, Rs 1,141.78 billion has been allocated for recurrent spending. The allocation is 65.2% of the total budget.
Likewise, Rs 307.45 billion, or 17.55% of the total budget, has been set aside for fiscal management.
The government has said that it would raise Rs 1,248.62 billion from revenue, Rs 452 billion from domestic and foreign debt and Rs 49.94 billion from foreign grants.
