Girl, 19, gangraped in Dang, say police

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested four youths in Dang for the sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman from Gadhawa Rural Municipality-5.

“Initial investigations show that the victim’s boyfriend, Kiran Chaudhary (19) lured her with a promise of marriage. When she arrived, he and his three friends committed the crime,” DSP Ishwar Thapa of the District Police Office, Dang, said. “The young woman has sustained injuries to various parts of her body.”

The other three have been identified as Sanjit Chaudhary (24), Dhiraj Chaudhary (19) and Sandip Chaudhary (21).

Police have remanded the four to custody for further investigation.
