KATHMANDU: The government has called for contributions to the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund established to mobilize resources for the reconstruction of infrastructure damaged during the Gen Z protest on September 8 and 9.
Speaking at a press meet in Singha Durbar on Thursday, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising said that the fund was established to mobilize financial resources for rebuilding public and government infrastructure damaged during the Gen Z protests. He urged everyone to support the initiative.
Minister Ghising appealed to the private sector, Nepali and foreign citizens, the Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) community, friendly nations, development partners and international organizations to contribute and join the national reconstruction campaign. He assured that the funds collected would be spent transparently.
Ghising added that the assessment of losses from the damage was still underway. “We have already received preliminary details of the damage,” he added.
