KATHMANDU: Minister of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, has accused Kulman Ghising, the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), of engaging in anarchic activities.
During the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Khadka said that Ghising has been trying to act independently without following proper procedures.
“He has not been cooperating with the government. The government will not remain silent about his anarchic activities and will take necessary action,” he added.
While stating that good work should be rewarded, Khadka clarified that there is no reason to unconditionally support a government employee. He added that changes in the board of directors had to be made as some members repeatedly remained absent in the meetings.
Khadka also refuted the claim that load shedding was eliminated solely because of Ghising. “The load shedding ended when Nepal imported 425 MW of electricity from India during that period,” he claimed.
