KATHMANDU: Kulman Ghising, who was removed from his position as Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), has filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court challenging his dismissal.
Senior advocate Lokmani Pokharel filed the petition on Ghising’s behalf.
According to Supreme Court Spokesperson Achyut Kuinkel, the writ has been submitted but not yet registered.
In his petition, Ghising has claimed that he was removed from his position illegally. He has named the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and the Nepal Electricity Authority defendants in the case.
A cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to remove Ghising and appointed Hitendra Dev Shakya as the new Executive Director of NEA.
