KATHMANDU: Communist leader Ghanashyam Bhusal, who ditched CPN-UML ahead of the November 2- polls, is joining CPN (Unified Socialist).
Bhusal had left party after he was denied a ticket to contest the election for the House of Representatives by CPN-UML. He contested the election in the Rupandehi-1 constituency as an independent candidate. He, however, was defeated despite having the support of the five parties.
Unified Socialist sources say Bhusal had set some conditions like left unity and efforts to save the constitution, among others. As the party has already decided to fulfill his conditions, he is joining the party in a few days, a Unified Socialist leader said.
Party general secretary Beduram Bhusal some days ago wrote a letter to Bhusal, affirming the party’s commitment to fulfill his conditions. In his letter, General Secretary wrote ‘Unified Socialist is committed to the 9th general convention of CPN-UML’.
