KATHMANDU: Coordinator of the General Convention Organizing Committee of CPN (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal, has said that the Gen Z movement and the Maoist party should join forces to contest the upcoming elections.
Addressing a program in Ramgopalpur of Mahottari on Wednesday, Dahal said the demands of the Gen Z movement can only be fulfilled if the Maoists and Gen Z unite in the elections. “Gen Z and the Maoists must contest the elections together. Only then can Gen Z’s demands be addressed,” Dahal added.
Dahal claimed that the Maoist Center has long championed agendas of the Gen Z movement, like a directly elected executive, a fully proportional electoral system and inclusive democracy. “Those who stand against these agendas cannot understand the sentiments of today’s youths,” he added.
