KATHMANDU: The Israeli Foreign Ministry has claimed that a Palestinian boy earlier reported to have been killed by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in Gaza is alive.
“Hamas’ narrative claimed he was shot dead by the IDF. But as Fox News revealed, Abboud is alive, found safe with his mother after a GHF investigation,” the foreign ministry said in a X post. It also shared the link to the news report.
“In an exclusive interview with the boy whose real name was confirmed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) to be Abdul Rahim Muhammad Hamden, but who goes by “Abboud,” the 8-year-old and his mother answered questions provided by Fox News Digital through a GHF translator, in which the pair appeared excited ahead of their planned extraction from the Gaza Strip,” Fox News wrote in its digital edition on Thursday.
Abboud and his mother, whose name is Najlaa, were safely extracted from the Gaza Strip on Thursday, though the location has not been disclosed in this reporting for their protection, it added.
