Gandaki: Minister Gurung steps down after cabinet reshuffle

KATHMANDU: Gandaki Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey has accepted the resignation tendered by Rajiv Gurung who was given a new responsibility as the Minister for Forest and Environment on Monday.

Chief Minsiter Pandey reshuffled his cabinet on Monday to induct four province assembly members from CPN-UML into his cabinet.

Because of this, Gurung, who was serving as the Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development, was given the forest and environment portfolio.

Expressing dissatisfaction at the decision, Gurung had tendered his resignation on Monday afternoon.

Chief Minister Pandey’s secretariat has confirmed that Gurung tendered his resignation after the cabinet reshuffle.
