POKHARA: Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Government, Surendra Raj Pandey, has appointed four ministers to his cabinet.
Province Chief Prithvi Man Gurung administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mahdrandhwoj GC (Nawalpur), Dipendra Bahadur Thapa (Baglung) and Jit Prakash Ale (Tanahun) of Nepali Congress and Resham Bahadur Jugjali (Myagdi) of CPN (Maoist Center) on Friday.
Rajiv Gurung aka Deepak Manange of CPN (Unified Socialist) was also hoping to get a ministerial portfolio. However, Chief Minister Pandey, who is leading a coalition government of NC, Maoist Center and Unified Socialist, was not in favor of appointing him from the very beginning as he enjoys a comfortable majority in the province government.
Gurung, who won the election from Manang district, joined Unified Socialist after the election. He is the Unified Socialist’s only member in the Gandaki Province Assembly.
