Gairigaun Murder: Police arrest another suspect

KATHMANDU: Police have made another arrest as part of their investigation into the murder of four people in Gairigaun on Friday night.

Police arrested Dipendra Rai for investigation on Saturday. On Sunday, another arrest was made based on CCTV footage, according to the Kathmandu Valley Police Office. However, details about the individual arrested on Sunday have not been disclosed.

“In the CCTV footage, the person carrying a small backpack can be seen heading towards the Khahare locality near Pepsicola via Koteshwar,” a source at the police office reported.

The four victims, including three from the same family, were discovered brutally murdered at Divya Saw Mill in Gairigaun at midnight on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Kumar Bhujel, who worked as a security guard in the sawmill, his wife Ambika, his mother Sumitra, and Nabin Rai (19) from Morang.

According to the police, the victims had deep cuts on their bodies inflicted by a sharp weapon.
