KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that he initially did not believe that Rabi Lamichhane, the President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), would commit cooperative fraud.
Launching a one-month special campaign at the party’s central office in Sanepa on Wednesday, Deuba said that the questions raised by the party in parliament regarding Lamichhane have now been proven. “When the parliamentary special investigation committee was formed, I didn’t believe that Lamichhane had committed cooperative fund fraud. But now it has been proven,” Deuba said.
He also thanked party General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa for insisting on forming the parliamentary committee. “Our General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa raised the cooperative issue after a long study. I want to thank him. I truly didn’t believe it when he said this was the case,” Deuba.
“It turns out that Rabi Lamichhane is quite a clever person. I was completely surprised when I heard about it. You won, so thank you,” he told Thapa.
