KATHMANDU: Four newly-appointed ministers were sworn in on Friday.
President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Kumar Ingnam; Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security Rajendra Singh Bhandari; Minister for Forests and Environment Madhav Chaulagain; and Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Shraddha Shrestha.
With this, the size of Karki’s cabinet has expanded to 14.
The new ministers come from diverse backgrounds. Ingnam teaches law at the Kathmandu School of Law and is an expert in international trade, arbitration, and financial crime law. Similarly,
Rajendra Singh Bhandari is a former Additional International General of Nepal Police and the founding chief of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police.
A Jumla native, Chaulagain has conducted extensive research in the Karnali region and authored the book Sapadalaksha Karnali. Shreshta was serving as Senior Manager of Nepal Tourism Board.
